Storm Protocol

Weather-Adjusted Survival Economics for the Urban Porch.

The Pivot Point: In Poplar Grove, when the pressure drops below 980 mb, the economics change. Angeline Thomas taught me that a lemonade stand isn't just a business—it's a shelter station. Rain doubles the shelter cost, but it triples the demand for warmth.

This is not a profit calculator. It is a survival solver.

Input your base sales volume and ambient conditions. The model calculates your break-even point under storm surge. When the Shelter Cost Multiplier crosses 2.0, the output shifts from PROFIT to SUSTAINANCE.

The Logic

The traditional model assumes linear growth. The Storm Protocol introduces a non-linear penalty: Cost = Base × (1 + 1.5 × Rain_Intensity^0.8).

When pressure drops below 980 mb, the Shelter Mode engages. Profit is irrelevant; the metric becomes Survival Hours.
